Data & Privacy

Stride takes your data seriously. This article explains what data Stride collects, how it is used, and what control you have over it.

What data does Stride collect?#

When you connect a device or import files, Stride processes:

  • Activity data – GPS tracks, power, heart rate, cadence, speed, elevation, temperature, and timestamps
  • Health metrics – HRV, weight, resting heart rate (from supported devices like Whoop, Oura, Garmin, and Polar)
  • Profile information – Your name, email address, avatar, and timezone
  • Training data – Workouts you create, training plans, zones, and threshold values

How is my data used?#

Your data is used to:

  • Calculate performance metrics (Training Score, Load, Fatigue, power curves, threshold estimates)
  • Power AI features (workout generation, training planning, activity analysis)
  • Display weather and wind data for your activities
  • Enable coaching features if you join a team

Stride does not sell your data to third parties.

Who can see my data?#

By default, your activities and training data are private to you. The exceptions are:

  • Team coaches – If you join a team, coaches (admins) can view your activities, metrics, and training plans. Other athletes on the same team cannot see your data.
  • Public workouts – Workouts marked as public are visible in the workout library to all users.
  • Public plans – Training plans marked as public are visible to all users.

Data from integrations#

When you connect a service like Garmin or Wahoo:

  • Stride receives activity data via the service's API
  • You can disconnect at any time under Account > Integrations
  • Disconnecting stops future syncing but does not delete previously imported activities
  • To fully remove data from a disconnected service, you would need to delete individual activities or your entire account

Deleting your data#

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. This removes everything: activities, workouts, training plans, metrics, AI chat history, and any teams you own. This action cannot be undone.

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Account > Profile.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and expand Advanced options.
  3. Click Delete account.
  4. Type delete my account to confirm, then click Delete My Account.

Once confirmed, your account and all data are permanently deleted and you will be signed out.
