Apple Health and Apple Watch

On iPhone, Stride reads your health data straight from Apple Health and can put your planned sessions on your Apple Watch. You turn it on in the Stride app, not on the website. On Android, see Fitbit, Google Health and Health Connect.

Turning it on#

  1. Tap your avatar on Home or Calendar.
  2. Tap Connected Devices, then Connect Apple Health.
  3. Turn on Sync from Apple Health and allow access when iOS asks.

Stride imports the last 90 days, then keeps up to date in the background and each time you open the app. Sync now checks straight away.

What comes across#

  • Workouts recorded on Apple Watch or in Apple's own apps, with heart rate, power, cadence, distance and route
  • Sleep, overnight HRV and resting heart rate
  • Cycle tracking

Workouts that other apps saved to Apple Health are not imported, because those apps usually have their own connection to Stride and the original file from that connection is better. For the same reason, sleep and HRV from a service you have connected directly (WHOOP or Oura, say) come from that connection rather than from Apple Health.

If Stride says some data is not shared yet, tap Allow access. If it asks you to, tap Open Settings and turn the missing types on for Stride in the Health settings.

Planned workouts on Apple Watch#

Turn on Schedule planned workouts and Stride puts the next 14 days of planned structured sessions in the Workout app on your watch, with their targets. They refresh each time you tap Sync now. Sessions with no intervals, swims written as notes and strength sessions are not sent.

Indoor rides you finish in the Stride workout player are saved to Apple Health as well.

When another device also records your night#

If you also wear a WHOOP, an Oura ring or a Garmin, Stride uses one device's sleep and recovery for each day. To choose which, open Connected Devices, then Manage Connections, and pick under Sleep and recovery.
